The Libertines Reunite (Again)!

The Libertines

First, The Strokes and now The Libertines.  This sounds like this could be epic or a whole lot of shenanigans waiting to ensue. The Albion Kids are set to once again reunite for the Leeds and Reading Festivals over in the UK. There’s a rumor going around that all four likely lads are getting paid around £1.5 Million to play the two sets. I think I might sit this one out, but I would love a chance to visit Pete Doherty’s haunted Marlborough home to stage a gorilla style intervention. The Sun claims that The Libertines are considering more live shows and even writing new material together. But, consider the source and watch and see if Pete dodges jail time again, by august. Buy tickets here and here.

Small Black “Despicable Dogs” Video

A few weeks back, I myself had the pleasure of seeing Small Black perform here in Hartford, thanks to the boys over at The Hartford Party Starters Union. T’was an interesting show over at the Warehouse that night and listening to this song, will forever remind me of the racially ambiguous, wild-haired girl, who smelt of onions and cat piss, standing directly in front of  Nita Niles and myself. It was a smell so strong, that during this song, I broke through the crowd, to step outside and indulge in the clean night air (and to grab a smoke). Memories.  Nonetheless, was a good show. Watch the video above, grab the song below.

“Bad Romance” as done in the style of LISSIE

Oh, Lissie girl. Why in the world would you do something like this? You know I love you. “Wedding Bells” and “Everywhere I go” are untouchable to me. So, why touch something as shitty as Lady HaHa’s GaGa’s “Bad Romance”?  I know it’s sort of okay to like that she-devil. But, I still have a bad taste in my mouth when it comes to Stefanie Germanotta, because she hasn’t given Bowie the credit he’s due— for her career.

Anyway, Lissie has managed to make the song slightly more listenable, but the alterna-country sweetheart could’ve done something more with the arrangement. Listen and Watch in horror awe above.
